Itineraries
Given its location at the very edge of eastern Tuscany, just
25 minutes from the city of Florence it is possible to explore
all of Tuscany in depth by planning day trips.
When visiting Florence, tickets for major
museums, such as the Academia, Uffici and the Bargello may
be reserved ahead of time at www.weekendafirenze.com.
We are also happy to help you book your concerts, opera and
ballet tickets or you may reserve tickets yourself by going
to www.boxoffice.it.
For those wishing to explore eastern Tuscany in greater depth,
the ancient city of Arezzo is only 70 kilometers
from La Fornella and the nearby hilltop town of Cortona
with its narrow, steep streets and medieval homes are perfect
for visitors in search of architecture, art, and culture.
We will help guests with itineraries to towns, such as Bibbiena
(one of the oldest towns in the region, and subject to intense
territorial feuding between Arezzo and Florence in medieval
times), Poppi, and the vast Casentino
region, an area of tiny villages nested among hills covered
with ages old woodland just to the north of Arezzo.
Day trips are also easily planned to all areas in Tuscany,
and we are happy to help you with itineraries to towns, such
as Lucca, Pisa, San
Gimignano, Voltera, Montepulciano,
Siena, and the Chianti region.
Tuscany is known for its wines and with advance notice we
can arrange for a guide to show you the area of your choosing
and can help you customize your itinerary to wineries
and vineyards in the Chianti Region.
